Dr Laura Holck: Call Candidate

On Sunday the call committee announced Dr Laura Holck as our primary, and only, candidate for a pastoral call at Emmanuel community church. Laura led worship for us on Easter Sunday and delivered an engaging sermon that inspired many of our fellowship with a desire to hear more of Laura’s preaching. Laura is open to a part-time call that will allow continuing work with another church, and also fit better into our constrained budget.

To move forward on the call process, a general meeting of Emmanuel Community Church’s membership must vote to approve the proposed call. Laura will return to lead the service on April 28, following which she will be available in the foyer to meet people over coffee and answer any questions they may have. The call committeee hopes that meet-and-greet will allow members to make an informed decision when called upon to vote at the congregation’s general meeting on May 5. The congregational meeting will be run by staff from the Synod Office, who have been engaged in the search and call process from its beginning.
