They’re Cute In Church. But Later In the Story Room …

Little people have always been welcome here at Emmanuel Community Church.  On Sundays, our children join us for the beginning of services and especially the Children’s Story.  These Bible stories are told by lay “Storytellers” — trained members of our congregation who using Godly-Play style scripts and manipulatives.

Following the Story, children who prefer to remain in the main service are welcome to stay, while other children accompany Betty into the Story Room to retell the story. Then the children have free choice of any materials in the Story Room: high-quality art materials to express their creative spirituality, or other Stories from other Scripture lessons, however each child prefers to play.

We even get to spend a few minutes in the beautiful park next door sometimes, weather and time permitting!
