True Love Movement International is a non-profit that uses concerts and story-telling to build connections in communities. Founded by Peace Ilondior in Nigeria in 2013, the movement promotes sustainable development, advocates for policy changes that address systemic injustice,  and reaches out to connect at the grass-roots level with the people from whom communities are built. In May, Peace asked our Fellowship Director, Pamela Mclean, to speak along with other Seniors, at the inauguration of her “My Story to the World” project. Each speaker was asked to talk for 10 minutes to tell the children something out of the senior’s own personal story, that a child might find meaningful. Those of you who know Pamela can imagine how hard it was for her to stop talking after only 10 minutes!

In “My Story to the World”, funded by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors programme, Peace is presenting a video series on Youtube collecting longer interviews of stories from Seniors, with the goal of passing their insights and experiences along to younger Canadians. Peace interviewed Pamela again earlier this summer, and that interview — the first in the My Story to the World series, can be seen on Youtube.
