Our Nov. 2 Fall Clothing Exchange was a fun success.

Volunteers at Emmanuel accepted and sorted clothes for most of the week leading up to our Fall Clothing Exchangeon 2 November. Generous neighbours and church-goers brought their donations to the church, and in the end we had a good selection of sizes and styles for all age groups and genders. Our partners at Forest Lawn United Church, a 20-minute walk from Emmanuel, simultaneously ran an exchange of winter outerwear: coats, hats, mitts, and boots. Winterwear dropped off at Emmanuel was taken to Forest Lawn United Church so that people could find all available sizes, styles and colours of winterwear at one place, while Emmanuel Community church hosted the exchange of fashion, work-, play- and school-wear, and party clothes for all ages and styles .

From just before 10am until just after noon, families came and went at Emmanuel, picking out clothing and accessories. Among the accessories was a collection of school lunch kits which, while they are not themselves clothes, are a necessary part of decking out children for school. Tea and coffee were provided, and a place to sit and sip while friends shopped.

We hope all our customers had as much fun as we did, and we’re looking forward to the Spring (& Stampede!) clothing exchange in Spring 2025.
