Children’s Ministry

Sunday Stories

During our regular Sunday service, our Storyteller shares one of the Bible lessons for the day in the form of a children’s story; and after the story, children aged 3 – 12 are welcome to come to the Story Room where they can use Bible story materials and art materials to create their own worship-response to the story they have heard.  Sunday Stories: The Revised Common Lectionary for Children is a Montessori-style programme inspired by Jerome Berryman’s Godly Play, that gives children the opportunity to focus on the same themes and lessons that the adults are hearing. On Communion Sundays, children return from the Story Room in time to participate in communion with their families.

The Creation Room

When a leader is available, the Creation Room offers children in grades 4 to 6 an opportunity to contribute to the Story Room experience. The Creation Room is where we create the hand-made toys and materials that make up the many Stories lining the walls of the Story Room.

Special Children’s Services

Emmanuel’s children lead special services for Advent IV when we present the Christmas Pageant, for Candlemas, for Shrove Tuesday, for Maundy Thursday, and for Michaelmas.
