Fellowship
When a person enters our church doors, we will provide every opportunity we can to ensure that they feel welcomed and provide them with the support they need and the information they need to join. The Fellowship Ministry plans fellowship events throughout the year to help the congregation get to know each other better.
Quilters for Christ – Tuesdays at 9 a.m.
Smartphone, Tablet and Laptop Helpdesk – Wednesdays @10 a.m.
Knit, Purl, Pray – Wednesdays @ 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- No registration required. Come in through the North Side door. Beginner and Novice knitters are welcome to come and learn knitting; experienced knitters are welcome to come and join the profound and holy peace of knitting quietly together as we make beautiful things with our hands and lift our hearts in silent prayer. There’s room in our fellowship also for Crochet-and-Pray, or Embroidered Meditations, or any other quiet portable handwork that you might like to bring .
Stephen Ministry
- Stephen Ministry offers a proven and effective way to organize, equip, and supervise a team of congregation members—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered care to people in the congregation and the community experiencing life difficulties. Emmanuel Community Church has been a member of Stephen Ministries since the mid 1990s, but over the intervening decades we have lost our Stephen Ministry leaders and the programme has fallen into disuse. This spring, we will begin restoring that ministry. If you are interested in being involved, please contact Christina at office@emmanuelcommunitychurch.ca, or contact Pamela at storyteller@emmanuelcommunitychurch.ca
