Happenings Keep On A’Happening!

We’ve taken a week now to regroup after our 8-week full-day summer music camp. Immense thanks to Sounddior Academy who organized and ran the camp in our facility! (Sounddior also offers extracurricular music classes after school — you can find more about them here: https://academy.sounddior.com/index.html) With up to 23 campers from age 4 to 17, this old church was alive with children’s voices as it hasn’t been in quite a while. We’re already starting to look forward to 2026 Summer Music Camp, building on this year’s experience to make next summer even better.
In the meantime, without violating anyone’s privacy (but you know who you are!) I want to extend a HUGE THANK-YOU to members of Emmanuel’s number of community partners who stepped in to help with serving lunches, creating artworks, teaching crafts, and otherwise helping where they could even though their groups had no obligation to the camp. Our community groups are true partners with us, and we value you immensely.
A week’s rest was a blessing, and now we are refreshed Emmanuel is moving on our next happening: our 2025 OPEN HOUSE and ART SHOW on 7 September! We’ve celebrated before the first Sunday after school starts, as a time when all our camping families, summer-job youth and young adults, and travelling vacationers, all come back together to pick up the threads of our communal life. It’s our “Reunion Sunday”. This year, we want to open our fellowship even wider, and welcome in visitors from the communities we serve, and from the wide network of connections held by our fellowship and partners. So please share and pass along this invitation:

You can reply in the comments, or email churchoffice@emmanuelcommunitychurch.ca, if you are interested in displaying art in this space.
